40th Thornhill Village Festival 

Saturday, 17th September 2016

The 40th  Annual Thornhill Village Festival will be held from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday, 17th September 2016. Festival Day is a time to celebrate in our historic community of Thornhill.  The Thornhill Village Festival is a major event in the life of Thornhill. It has something for all generations and for many individual interests. 

What a pleasant day to meet friends and neighbours!

1. The Thornhill Village Festival an outdoor, community, heritage, crafters Festival.
    It sponsored by of the Society for the Preservation of Historic Thornhill (SPOHT). 
    It is run by a volunteer community committee.

2. Volunteers are always welcome.
    You can volunteer to help on Festival Day or help  to organize the Festival. 
    Planning begins in February but you can volunteer at any time online at

3. The first Thornhill Village Festival was held in the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Year of 1977. 
    An extensive photographic record of the first twenty Festivals was collected by
    Alf and Laura Weaver. Some images are available online at  www.thornhillfestival.org 

4. To help cover the considerable expense of the Thornhill Village Festival a small 
    voluntary donation is requested: 

$ 2.00 for adults 
$ 1.00 for seniors (65 and over)
$ 1.00 for Teens (13-19) 
Free for children (12 and under) 
Free for anyone in full heritage costume 

     Donation buckets are located at all the entrance gates; 
     Festival-goers are thanked for their support.
